Following Sean’s lead I am now trying out Zemanta (See WTC’s review as well). It seems to be pretty slick, but I only worry about the privacy implications.

David Cook

I can’t help but agree with Alicia @ Balancing Motherhood about this season of American Idol and David Hernandez in particular:

Speaking of over the top, David Hernandez did an awful performance. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing. It was embarassing. I had to fast forward. He was just trying way too hard and it was the totally wrong song choice. He is better than that, which is hopefully what America will think.

We skipped right through it and tried hard not to laugh when Randy and Paula stumbled over ways to say that it stunk in a nice way. Simon, as usual, was blunt and honest.

Poor David Archuleta as well. He’s been a favorite of the wife for quite some time and we both cringed when he flubbed the lines. Is his youth hurting him? Rickey.org doesn’t seem to think so as they are calling him their favorite to win the whole thing.

Hopefully Chikeze can hang out a little longer because his performance was really great. My favorite last night was David Cook (visit Rickey.org to listen and view his performance) because he really made the song his own.

Social gaming start-up Pikum closes £2.6 million financing led by Virgin USA

5 March 2008 – Pikum, an online social gaming start-up launching in the UK, has secured investment of £2.6 million from Virgin USA.

Pikum – a new kind of game created and played between friends – is the brainchild of 28-year old entrepreneur, Sean Glass, who previously co-founded higher education-focused online financial services company, Higher One (Higher One was ranked number 85 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing U.S. private companies in 2007). Pikum’s founding management team also includes Johannes Larcher, Pikum’s CEO, who was a member of Overture’s executive team until its sale to Yahoo! in 2003, and most recently was CEO of online education firm Academy123 (acquired by Discovery Communications in 2006).

The funding round included participation from leading early stage U.S. based venture fund, First Round Capital, who also led Pikum’s seed financing in March 2007.

As I said previously, I am so glad that I’ve had the opportunity to work on Pikum.com. I think it is an amazing product and people everywhere will truly love it. It’s just plain fun.

UPDATE: Techcrunch UK has noticed us.
